Naturalistic flowers and flower bouquets enjoyed great popularity among goldsmiths around the middle of the last century. For example, in 1937 Cartier produced a brooch featuring ranunculus flowers. Four years later, the preference for floral motifs at the Foire de Lyon was positively indulged. At the beginning of the 1960s, jewellery designers love of the flower motif waned slightly as they turned their attention to other motives.
