14K white gold (585/-), stamped. 2 tiny, brilliant-cut diamonds, together circa 0.02 carat. 2 elongated prehnite drops, circa 40 x 8 mm. Excellent condition.
Length circa 5.5 cm. Ca. 9.1 g.
The mineral was named prehnite after the Dutch colonel Hendrik von Prehn, who was a commander of the Dutch colony at the Cape of Good Hope around the time of its discovery. The greenish, yellowish-green or brownish-green colour means it can be easily confused with serpentine, jade, apatite or chrysoprase.
