Nocturnal street scene in Neath/Wales. Signed and dated (19)09 lower right. Inscribed, titled and address details "The Orchard / Polperro. Cornwall" on an old adhesive label on the frame verso. Oil on canvas. 91.5 x 50.5 cm. Minor damage. Damage to frame.

 

Adhesive label "Bradley Co., London Agents" with stamp "Royal Academy 1909" and numbered 58 verso.

The present painting was exhibited at the 141st exhibition of the Royal Academy in London in 1909 (Catalogue "The Exhibition of the Royal Academy of Arts MDCCCCIX - The one hundred and forty-first". London 1909, page 30, catalogue number 675).
