Cf. auction "Nachlass Prof. Alfred von Wieruzs-Kowalski, München", Hugo Helbing, Munich, 28 April 1917, catalogue number 50 (illustration plate IV). A photo animation by the consignor shows a clear match between the present painting and this painting from the artists estate, so that it can be assumed that it is the same painting despite the different technique and slightly different dimensions.
