Indistinctly signed and dated 1861 lower left. Family crest upper left. Inscribed with the sitters name, date of birth and the addition "Hasenpoth Hauptm. Ger. Assessor" verso. Oil auf canvas. 84 x 67 cm. Restored. Damaged. Damage to frame (96 x 79 cm).
Peter Gustav Adam von Heyking lebte in Kurland. Er wurde 1782 in Zehren geboren und starb 1863 in Mitau. Er war verheiratet mit Luise Eleonore Caroline von Schlippenbach (1786-1850). Die rechts stehende kleine Büste einer Dame stellt wohl Heykings 11 Jahre vor Entstehung des Porträts verstorbene Gattin dar.
