Creussen, dated 1668
Brown, salt-glazed stoneware, embellished in enamels and gilding. Pewter cover and base. Baluster form, ear-shaped handles with lion mask and palmette thumbpiece, dated 1668. Relief decorated with a frieze of the seven planets each inscribed and bordered by stylised swags. Waved decoration to foot rim, rim inscribed with toast "DRINCK VND IS, GOTT NICHT VERGIS.". Height 21 cm.
