Monogrammed upper centre BCM (in the arch of the temple door) and dated 1523. Verso with seal of the collection and old section of an auction catalogue. Oil (in grisaille) on panel. 48.5 x 35.5 cm. Restored. Damaged. Damage to frame. The catalogue extract on the back refers to the auction of Die Sammlung Victor Hahn, Berlin 1932, in which the painting was offered with an attribution to the artist, Giulio Clovio (1498 Grizane - 1578 Rome). Provenance: Collection of Victor Hahn, Berlin. - Hermann Ball / Paul Graupe, Berlin, auction 27 June 1932, catalogue number 7. - South German private collection.
