Family coat of arms lower right. Oil on canvas. 110 x 86.5 cm. Relined. Restored. Minor damage. Richly carved and gilt leafwork frame in Bolognese style. Damaged (116 x 155 cm).
Inventory label of the 19th century on the stretcher the with attribution of the painting to Hyacinthe Rigaud (1659 Perpignan - 1743 Paris). Indication of the provenance "acheté de Della Rovere à Venise" (September 1874) and identification of the sitter as "Duc de Savoie" on the label on the stretcher. Heavily damaged adhesive label on the canvas verso with information about the purchase by "Johann Woods", Venice, also in 1874, there stated as "Eugene de Savoie Carignan" (Prince Eugene of Savoy, 1663 Hôtel de Soissons - 1736 Vienna).
