A PAIR OF CHINESE VASES SET IN FRENCH BRONZE MOUNTS
Paris, circa 1870, mounts probably by the Henri Picard foundry for Maison Beurdeley. Porcelain. Bronze. In baluster form. Bluish-mauve glaze. Elaborate bronze mounts with foliate arabesques, rocaille and mascarons. One of the vases inscribed on the base "Mr. Beurdeley / v Picard", the other inscribed "Mr. Beurdeley / R...d". Restored. Height 71 cm. Provenance: South German private collection.
