Paris, stamp probably of Roger Vandercruse Lacroix (1728-1799), circa 1770

 

Rosewood, amaranth, and other kinds of wood veneer. Gilt bronze mounts. Restored, shrinkage crack to each side. Original marble top missing. Please note: The top illustrated is NOT part of lot 1204, but is on offer as lot 1205!. 93 x 149 x 55 cm.

Label "Herrschaft Carlsruhe O/S Nr. 223". Stamped (difficult to read): "JME" and "R. LACROIX" (?) on the front bar. Handwritten inscription "...IIIIII de SAR .../Montbeliard" on the back wall. Remnants of a label "Die ... Marmor/ ... im Besitz/ (Kö)nigin Marie A(ntoinette)/(F)rankreich .../Herzogin Do(rothea)/(Herzog) Friedrich Eugen/Verzeichnis (?) .../ und nebst Meubles Württ..." and "... Du Roy/Rue de la Monnaye à Pa(ris)" on the underside.
