(1727 - 1777), South German (Munich), last quarter of the 18th century. Portrait bust in the round, tapering pedestal inscribed "MAX III. ELECTOR". Wood, heightened in white-gold. Restored, rubbing. Height including pedestal 172 cm. Provenance: The South German dynasty of the Freybergs, probably Johann Anton von Freyberg-Eisenberg zu Hopferau (1740-1806), nephew of the Prince-Bishop of Eichstaett, Johann Anton II von Freyberg (1674-1757).
