Hans Stern (1922-2007), better known under his jewelery logo H.Stern, fled Germany in 1938 to settle in Brazil. In Rio de Janeiro he was first employed by a stamp dealer and then by a jeweler, who ignited Sterns passion for the precious stones of Brazil. The passion for these stones earned Stern the nickname "king of colourful jewels". Through clever marketing and collaborations with famous personalities who, like Cathérine Deneuve, designed their own collections, he managed to gain world wide status - falling in league with the likes of Tiffany and Cartier.
