COLLIER DE CHIEN SET WITH TURQUOISE AND PEARL
Probably Germany, circa 1900-1905
14K yellow gold, tested. 6 larger and 10 smaller turquoise cabochons, altogether circa 100 carats (calculated weight), 1 stone has been replaced. 37 baroque pearls, diameter circa 4-5.4mm, 66 baroque "angel wing" pearls.
Length circa 38.7 cm. Circa 96.75 g.
The Collier de Chien came back into fashion around 1900. It was commonly set with pearls and diamonds. The above necklace is a highly fashionable and extravagant variant combining winged pearls and turquoise.
