Tibetan goldsmiths and silversmiths are masters both in the production of silver filigree work and in the old technique of granulation. The use of lapis lazuli is often found in jewellery from the Himalayan regions, particularly as the Badakhshan province in neighbouring Afghanistan is home to perhaps the most significant lapis lazuli mines in the world.
