18K yellow gold, tested. French hallmarks from 1838. 4 small rubies. 20 small half pearls, diameter circa 2.4 mm. Enamel minature on mother of pearl.
Circa 5.7 x 4.7 cm. Circa 24.11 g.
The painting represents the toilet of Venus - a popular theme of Francois Boucher. Bouchers depiction was so popular in the 18th century that an entire department in the Frankenthal Porcelain Factory was created accordingly.
