Neumeister Review 2018

[...] The results achieved in our auctions over the past year show that our concept of re-appraisal and our new approach has worked – and I am very proud of this. In addition ot the numerous very good to excellent hammer prices in our core sectors – Fine Art, Modern Art, Post War & Contemporary and Jewellery – the two special auctions were a huge success, too.

During the auction of the ‘Collection Dr. Alfred Ziffer. European Decorative Arts 18th to 20th Century’ almost 90 percent of the items in this unique collection were sold – a sensational highlight being a Nymphenburg Bustelli chambermaid that fetched just under 80 000 euros.

Shortly afterwards, in July, the charity auction ‘Unlimited Help’ in aid of the Hilfsverein Nymphenburg e.V., initiated by the House of Wittelsbach, was held. The sale achieved a result of almost 800 000 euros when all lots in the fine and decorative arts sector were knocked down and due to the magnificent results that NEUMEISTER was able to achieve in the field of contemporary art: a photograph by Andreas Gursky reached 140 000 euros, a sculpture by Anselm Kiefer 100 000 euros, a work on paper by Georg Baselitz 75 000 euros and, last but not least, the gavel went down at 50 000 euros for a sculpture by the shooting-star Mia Florentine Weiss.

I would like to thank you most sincerely for the confidence you have placed in my staff and in me over the past year and I look forward to many stimulating encounters and to interesting discussions about art and life in the year ahead. [...]

NEUMEISTER Review 2017

We are delighted that 2017 brought such excellent results for our auction house; this confirms our strategy of applying rigorous curatorial standards and accepting only the highest-quality works for our sales. In this Review, we present the finest art objects and the most outstanding results, and warmly invite you to contact us if you intend plans to sell or purchase a work of art in the future.

Our outstanding results reflect the forefront of developments on the art market, including particular OLD MASTERS. The record price of 450 million Dollars for a Salvator Mundi painting by Leonardo da Vinci, achieved in New York in November 2017, highlights the trend. Investment in art, whether it be OLD MASTERS or works from the MODERN period, continues to promise long-term stability and attractive return, simply because good art is a rare commodity sought after by collectors and dealers from Europe, the USA and Asia.

NEUMEISTER Summer Auctions 2017

Precious jewellery, rare works of art, hand-selected 19th century paintings plus the Special Auction „Franconia Private Collection“

Beyond the unusual strong offer of 19th century painting NEUMEISTER put emphasis on one of its core strengths: works by artists of the Munich School such as Carl Spitzweg, Franz von Defregger and Josef Wopfner. Many and high prices are resulted during the auction. Nearly all works of the sector Art & Crafts are sold for high prices.

The SPECIAL AUCTION „Franconia Private Collection“ featured in the painting department an outstanding selection of Munich School works by Anton BraithOtto GeblerLudwig Hartmann as well as an overwhelming choice of cut and thrust weapons as well as firearms from the 17th to the late 19th century.
Except for very few lots all positions could be sold – at very attractive prices for the seller

The auction JEWELLERY on the previous day sparkled with invaluable historic jewellery as well as 20th century design pieces. Even this section resulted in strong hammers which bears witness for the qualtity of the Jewels.

NEUMEISTER 20th Century Art
